Product photography in Marrakech: preparing a shoot for your brand

A brand launch, an online catalogue and a social campaign need photographs that do different jobs. Before booking a product photographer in Marrakech, decide what each image should communicate. Showing an object clearly, expressing a brand identity and demonstrating a use are related goals, but they need a deliberate brief rather than one generic photograph.
Start with where the images will be used
List the intended uses: product pages, your website, a catalogue, advertising or social media. An image explaining the packaging may need a different composition from a campaign visual. Include the required orientations and any space you need to leave for text.
Across a product range, aim for consistent lighting, scale and framing. A coherent set helps visitors compare items without being distracted by a different treatment for every reference. Share the specifications of your planned platforms before the session.
Create a shot list for each product
Separate descriptive images from styled brand images. Depending on the item, you might need a main view, an alternative angle, a material detail and a photograph that illustrates use. Each image should have a clear purpose; a longer shot list is not automatically a better one.
For cosmetics, identify whether you need to show texture, an applicator, the packaging or a demonstration. A cream, an oil and a spray need different preparation. Describe the actual product and the message your brand wants to communicate rather than asking every product to fit the same visual idea.
- The names and number of products to photograph.
- The angles and details required for each reference.
- The horizontal, vertical and square formats you need.
- The backgrounds, props, models or locations involved.
- The photography, film and retouching requirements.
Prepare the products and the brand references
Choose clean samples with straight labels and undamaged packaging. Check reflective surfaces for fingerprints and look for dents or small imperfections. Bring additional samples if a scene involves opening, pouring or applying the product.
Share your logo, colours and a small set of references, with a short explanation of what you like in each. Tell the team what you want to avoid as well. A clear direction is more useful than a large folder of references that suggest unrelated styles.
Plan film and social clips before the session
Mention reels or a launch film at the briefing stage. Movement, demonstrations and textures need to be planned for filming. A successful still photograph does not automatically provide the sequence of shots a video edit requires.
Agree the formats, intended uses and priority scenes. If you need hands, a model or a particular location, establish who is arranging them before the shoot. This helps the production schedule reflect the actual work rather than leaving important decisions until the day.
Agree retouching and delivery expectations
Explain the editing you expect, the colours that need to remain accurate and the information that must be readable on labels. Product images should represent the item faithfully. For creative compositions, agree which elements will be photographed and which will be assembled later.
When requesting a proposal from iPhotoo, include your product list, intended uses, visual references and timeline. Those details provide a useful starting point for discussing image numbers, style and the production resources your project needs.
